Prime and subcontractors that do business with the Department of Defense (DoD) must comply with DFARS by December 31, 2017. In order to comply with DFARS, contractors must address numerous clauses within, including:
• 252.204-7008: Compliance with Safeguarding Covered Defense Information Controls
• 252.204-7012: Safeguarding Covered Defense Information and Cyber Incident Reporting
To satisfy the requirements within these particular clauses, a contractor must implement security requirements and controls that are identiöed within the NIST Special Publication (SP) 800-171 document.
